Castle Trips , the water castle was built in the 15nst century and extended in the 17th century. The castle system was built on four islands surrounded by water: Two working quarters, the main castle and a garden with pavilion. The castle was not open for public.

Trips still is a meeting point not only on Sunday mornings for bikers, walkers and duck-feeding children. Park your car and take it as starting point for a walk or a skate along the creek. A cycle path (round way GK) leads through the Wurm valley, passing Trips. A bikers info board is set up to inform you about connecting bike-routes.

until the end, turn left (B221) towards Geilenkirchen

Exit Aldenhoven (B56) to Geilenkirchen


towards geilenkirchen, exit B221 for Tripsrath / Centrum. Within the city go left at the traffic lights, follow that street for 1 km.

drive in direction Geilenkirchen. On the ring road and take the first exit right after passing Immendorf. Turn left imidiately and after another 3 km go downhill, crossing the railroad tracks. Next two traffic lights continue straight ahead. Passing the market place turn right, following Heinsberger-Str. to the traffic lights, where you turn right and follow that street for another km.

From GK center: Walkers, Skaters and cyclists reach the castle Trips using the walkway along the little creek 'Wurm'. In the centre of the city you will find the entrance to that walkway next to the county-bank (Kreissparkasse).

If You like to go by car, follow the main street in direction Heinsberg (Konrad-Adenauer-Str.) turn right into Heinsberger Str. and another right at the traffic lights (Aral gas station). Follow the street for approximately 1200 m downhill to car-park on the right.
