		The lake Brachelen is one of the leisure facilities maintained by the city Hückelhoven. During the summer, swimming is beautiful in the clean water. In 1998 a certificate for the very good water quality was presented by the state NRW. (the 3 ducks). A kiosk named "Ballermann 6" (sounds worse than it is) provides you with snakcs and drinks. Showers and toilets are avaiable. Entrace fee: € 0,70 / € 2,50 (2002). The lifeguard DLRG has the supervision of bath at the lake. The east part of the lake is closed for floats and swimmers. Fishing is possible at that part. Once a the year, a triathlon contest starts from here.

		approach:
		exit at Hückelhoven east (7) then follow the street through Hückelhoven always straight ahead, through Hilfarth (zone 30). Then after another 3 kms, just before the town sign of Brachelen, turn right to the lake parking lot. Exit Aldenhoven (B56) to Geilenkirchen Driving on the Geilenkirchen ring road, exit for Geilenkirchen 'Stadtmitte'. From Geilenirchen use Nikolaus-Becker-Str. out of town and drive through Süggerath, Würm, Leiffarth, Lindern in direction Hückelhoven to Brachelen. Leaving the village of Brachelen turn left to the lake parking lot.
